Ko Poda is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 81000, Thailand
This is by far one of my favorite islands. It is peaceful, relaxing, spectacular views and just plain amazing to visit.
Very Instagrammable place, much more quiet than the main land, one of the best island stops of the island tour. They also have drinks and (local) toilets.
We took a 4 island tour and this was our final stop. We had lunch here and hung out on the beach. It was vastly overflowed with boats carrying people who were also on tour. Theres a shop in the middle in case you want a bit more than what the tour offers.
Nice to be there at the island and having lunch by our boat crew .Scorching sun needs sunray protection measures.overall enjoyable..
Ko Poda island is a must visit in Krabi. Very beautiful, very clear water. Sit back and enjoy a relaxing sunbath on the beach.
Ko Poda island is a must see in Krabi. We didn’t book a tour because we decided that we want to take our time and enjoy more than one hour in Poda Island. We went to Poda Island with a longtail Boat which was 300 Bahts/person for a return trip. We also had to pay there 400 Baht tax for the National Park. The place was extremely beautiful. I recommend to go on the other part of the island(where there are no stores) because there were far less people and the scenery was breathtaking. The water was crystal clear and the sand was white. On the part of the island with the store and toillets is where all the island tours stop and it is very crowded and noisy from the longtail boats.
Swimming with the clown fish, They all welcome your coming just you touch the beach. Try it once in your travels.
Concluding my instalment of the Island Hopping of Krabi, this will be the 4th but definitely not the least. After my excellent review of Koh Kai or Chicken Islands and Snorkeling (https://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/ShowUserReviews-g1507054-d9453855-r849115910-Chicken_Island-Ao_Nang_Krabi_Town_Krabi_Province.html) this will be another home run. In fact, it is the perfect way to end our island hopping trip around Kho Phi Phi National Park – Koh Poda. Of all the islands we’ve been thru this one has the finest and longest stretch of fine white sand beach perfect for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling and chilling. Located just 25 mins from Ao Nang, Krabi main island via speed or Thai Long tail boat, it is a small circular island about 1 KM in diameter yet it boasts a pristine landscape of pure untouched nature and perhaps one the best white sand beaches we’ve been to. Being unpopulated, it has retained its pure, raw beauty that captivates a lot of locals and visitors alike and a must visit island if not just in Thailand but the whole world. From our enchanting visit to the Chicken shaped Koh Kai Island and snorkeling around its clear and thriving waters we are not done yet but unbeknownst to first time visitors like us we are in for another and final surprise of this trip – our lunch and final stop where we could eat, chillax and swim. It just took around 15 mins or so by our speedboat to arrive here and the sun have overtaken the cloudy skies earlier in the day. It’s now just past 12 in the afternoon when they arrived at the island and compared to the other ones they’ve visited this one has quite a few visitors or perhaps because its lunch time and the only island that hosts lunch for visitors. Without any prior knowledge, we were indeed pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful it is. We immediately noticed the fine white sands, crystal clear blue waters in different shades from sky to turquoise to blue green, palm and coconut trees further inland, vendors selling snacks and drink, Al Fresco dining table and benches located within the Palm and Coconut trees inside, row of colorful Thai Long tail boats docked on the coast, 360 degrees of impeccable view of the surrounding islands of Poday archipelago and even a view of Railey Beach over the horizon and the most incredible of all – a solitary limestone rock located just a few meters away from the center of the beach standing there proud, beautiful and glorious which seems to indicate you’re right here at Koh Poda. As our lunch and final stop, we had a lunch box as part of our package and mind you we had the most delicious, spicy and appetizing Pork Krapaow Rice with Egg together with fruits Pineapple and Watermelon slices and Custard Bread for deserts. I took some local Thai Orange Soda for my drink as well. We decided to eat on a bench facing the lone Limestone rock which is truly memorable moment. The marvelous panoramic and scenic view while having the most delicious lunch is just perfect – this one tops if not one of our most memorable part of this island hopping trip. Some of our co-participants decided to eat on the dining table apart from us. After half an hour, we decided to take a dip before our boat leaves. We have 2 hours at this place and an hours has already passed. We took first a couple of photos and videos for ourselves, the view and some selfies which were all fantastic. The lone limestone rock across the sea is truly amazing and adds a statement and beauty to our photos and videos. Together with the docked colorful boats in front of it – the setting is so picturesque that you don’t even need to Photoshop your shots in order to enhance its beauty. It’s a statement that we are indeed in a raw untouched nature which is just miles away from civilization. The rock is a narrow vertical limestone click with some greeneries on the top and left side part of it. Coral Reefs surround this rock but we didn’t try to swim there nor snorkel due to the limited time. But we enjoyed our swim right after taking our memorable shots. The waters are cool, clean and super clear. Perfect for swimming and sunbathing for people of all ages and the fine powdery white sand adds calmness, ease and relaxation to its visitors. As a matter of fact, I could see colorful fishes at least 2 to 3 species swimming along the banks amidst our presence. 2 hours have gone too fast, too soon until our guide called us that we’re already leaving and wish that we could stay even longer. Regardless we left the island very happy, glad and fulfilled. In about 30 mins we are back in Ao Nang mainland but feels like we’ve been away for so long proving that’s how memorable this trip was. We also gave some tips to the very helpful, funny and knowledgeable tour guide and we were brought back to our hotel using the open air Thai bus which is another unique experience for us to try. For just about 2K Bath per person, the Krabi 4 Island Hopping trip is very much worth it and wish we could have it a bit longer. We were very satisfied, with a smile in our faces and wanting to go back again definitely for sure and this time a bit longer or we would like to try one of its bungalows where we could stay overnight on this island. So if you’re a frequent Thailand visitor but have never been to Krabi, think about it do visit this colorful, magical and beautiful islands surrounded by limestone cliffs, rocks and islands and for sure it will surely surprise you and melt your hearts along the way!!!
