WOW!!!! Not in a good way… My wife and I took our grown up kids to see this ladyboy show. It started off good, nice old theatre, free soft drink with our 1000baht each VIP tickets, show was ok.. Some very rough ones up there. We were told we could get photos with the singers after the show. After the show because my son is gay he wanted some photos so I gave him about 8 or 9, 100baht notes. That’s when we all got jumped, before I knew it I’d handed out all the small notes in my wallet, one very large drag had my leg, one hanging off my arm and two in my face trying to get the large notes out of my wallet, I look around my kids were yelled at aggressively that they owe money!!! It then got real… After paying this big dude in a wig another 100baht we got out of there.VIP tickets 5000baht, Wife’s about 1200baht, all the money from mydaughter & sons wallet 4500baht, me (inc. money I gave my son that all got ripped out of these hand) about 3000baht = 13700baht = $ 529-31 Aus. and funniest part, between all of us we only got 2 very poorly taken photos. DO NOT DO THIS !!!!!!!!
surprising and silly all at the same time, the tongue-in-cheek show is sure to keep your eyes glued to the stage! For the full experience, upgrade to include a post-show dinner at a traditional
The show itself was okay nothing special lack of enthusiasm, but i understand as these ladyboys have to repeat their routine one after the other but…. as the show finished performers lined up outside at the stairs ( onlyway to get down from the stage) they were snatching my phone as one photo means 100baht to them i already shook my head twice to so many and 3 decided to pull my arms and one tried to pull my phone off me. My boyfriend was pulled back by 4.. was embarrassing and almost scary. Paid 1000baht each to get in wasnt the best i must say
Great mix of comedy and Vegas-style Cabaret, performed by some beautiful lady-boys in stunning costumes. An hour-long show that wasn’t quite long enough. My boyfriend even got dragged up onto stage to take part in one of the numbers, which was a good laugh. We booked online through their website, but the promised “welcome drink” never materialized. And just be careful on your way out of the theatre. Have a few 100 baht notes ready. The performers are all waiting to take pics with you and they’re pretty insistent about being tipped. But don’t let that spoil your evening. It’s a fun night out. Mambo easily reached by taxi. We paid 75 baht each way from Lumpini Park. Show was on promotion at 650 baht each, for really good seats. Recommended.
Show was enjoyable, they did a great job but in the end when you take pictures with the dragqueens for 100 baht each, it was awful. They grab you as soon as you walk down the stairs and they beg for pictures, everything happens so fast!! It’s so easy to get ripped off, as they will yank your money as soon as they see it. They stole 800 baht and we only got 2 pictures, they kept harassing us and pulling us, we had to basically fight our way out of the crowd. I do not recommend this place, those dragqueens are crooks.
The ladies were well dressed and trying to put on a show but unfortunately it was awkward over priced and boring. We were supposed to go to the calypso Cabaret but I think the taxi driver was in on a ‘deal’.$1000 baht each to get in and then the expectation of 100baht tip per photo at the end. I have a lovely bruise on the top of my arm from being grabbed and held until I gave a tip, which I refused, they then grabbed my 12 year old daughter who started crying. Terrible experience, please save yourself the grief and if you take children, keep them close when you leave.
This show was mainly aimed at chinese families with lots of chinese pop songs we didn’t know. That said my husband and I had a really good time. It was surprisingly innocent and family friendly in what is quite a depressingly seedy city at times. The show was a bit amateurish with no one singing live but it didn’t really matter as it was light hearted and funny. The drinks are really expensive. For me the only let down was the photo taking at the end. they try and sell you “tickets” for it advertising at 50 baht each. My husband actually wanted to pay this as he thought they deserved the support. Unfortunately the descend on you and death is the only escape once you make eye contact. It is actually 50 baht per person in the photo and they all pile in then become quite aggressive about insisting on money and we ended up paying 200 and felt extorted. It can be avoided if you are expecting it and just power through without making eye contact at the end!
Were reccomended this by our driver, arrived with the family then susequently charged £100 for the four of us. Had a dread feeling we had been scammed and after the show the my fears had been confirmed. performance and set were not worth the price paid, moulin rouge it aint. Arrived back at the hotel and reviewed the price online. We should have payed £25 for the whole family! Needless to say we must have had targets on our head stating ‘tourist target’ When in Bankok dont buy anything that doesnt have a price attached, never, ever settle with a verbal quotation and walk away from anyone who persist in trading in this way.
If the show worth 4 stars, I will deduct 2 stars for the photo taking section. The photo taking section is terrible, all the performers are there to fight for the ticket on your hand for extra allowance and tips no matter older person or kids especially guy visitors. Please beware them on forcing you on taking photo whoever kids or older person and TAKE CARE YOUR CHILD! Recommends to whom that visit without family members or you will be headache on money flying to settle trouble made during photo taking section that cannot be avoid.
Really fun easy going evening, expensive for what it is but a good laugh for a few hours, you can’t tell the girls are guys
It’s too same Amazing show in Sebu ?? I don’t know which show starts earlier. Sebu is better ., And she requires tip Excessively.
