The Grumpy Old Men : My BEER Friend Taproom is perched on a picturesque hilltop overlooking 164/39 Chang Klan Rd, 50100, Thailand
Another great micro-pub run by the ‘My Beer Friend’ brewery. A great selection of their own (My Beer Friend) and other craft beer from around the world. A nice atmosphere in this small room with friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you are looking for decent craft ale – here is your place.
This place is serving their own brews plus a couple more on guest taps. Small place but sufficient if you are looking at getting a break from Leo and Chang beer. Their own brews are up for the competition and have good taste all over the range of different styles. Snacks are available, but I hope the menu will expand with for example some good burgers along with increasing business.
Quiet. Cool. Relaxing. Excellent beer. Good escape. Highly recommended. Situated directly opposite shaggrila.
The owner is very passionate about is product, and goes to great lengths to produce amazing bears. This place is a must stop for anyone who enjoys a good craft beer. The My BEER Friend ESB and NE IPA are both prefect.
To start off without going on about the lovely beer they had on tap. They offer their fare in an unusual measure. One of which I have never came across. I have asked a couple of natives from the country to which this pint measure originated and was informed that they don’t get served beer in a US pint measure. = 470mls.The first taster I had was a pale ale could not remember its name; very nice too.The 2nd was called ESP. A little sweet but very very nice. Great after taste. Just wasn’t enough of it in my glass for the price they charge.I had wandered down to this bar from one up at the night bazaar. There it was 500mls. Not quite the full pint as in imperial. Funny as the management are Englishmen. Won’t go on about the English now will we.But the price at this, we’ll call “TGOM” taproom. Was significantly more expensive than the previous bar up top.So I’ll say great beer; do something about the glass measure or reduce the price in line with the volume served.I went back for a 2nd helping the next night but it was closed. Sad really, all that great beer.Would’ve been 4 stars if not for the obvious.
The 2nd My Beer Friend “Brewpub”. They have 3 of their own beers on tap with 5 foreign guest taps. They have 6 of their own beers on bottle but at least 1 was missing There is free wifi. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Located in a side street is this small bar that specializes in beer. With a choice of only 8 beers, two of them home made you can hardly call it a special beer place. But service is friendly, the environment pleasant, so all in all not a bad place to have a drink but not worth going out of your way to get there.
Went there this evening – arrived 2135 departed 2137.Staff behind the bar, and customers sat at the bar, totally engrossed on their phones. No idea I was there so I couldn’t even try one of the overpriced drinks.I also noticed on the door they are closed on Wendsday – which is not how I would spell it.Won’t be back – and I live less than 1km away.
Great craft beers. Minimal but unique setting. Minimal menu – Beers, whiskey and some wine. Pure beer experiences. Prices are on par with craft beer (higher than mass produced beer brands). Owner attentive, speaks excellent English and feels as loving craft beers and happy to explain. Great for a friend’s or couple’s night out. Eat before since no food is served. Excellent fresh bears. Great to conclude an evening or a long day.
Nice little bar. Perfect place to end the evening. Not to overload with people. The beer is very tasty. The one who know what beer, especially different IPAs, tastes like, loves this place! The barkeeper is really engaged and very friendly. His English is perfect! If we ever visit Chiang Mai again, we come back! 🫶🏽
