  1. This small temple on the Chaophraya River is easily one of my favourites in all of Bangkok. Located not far from the Rama 3 Bridge, it can easily be reached by taxi or bus. The local Chaophraya express boat may even stop at their pier during the day but I am not sure about that.I like to arrive late afternoon just before sunset when the golden statues of Buddha and the golden roofs of the temples are glowing in the light. There is usually also a breeze that makes the chimes ring adding to the magic of the space. There are very few tourists here so I was hesitant to review it as I would hate to see it become crowded, but for the few who are willing to make the trip it is well worth it.After the sunset, I sometimes take a taxi to Asiatique for dinner and shopping as I return to the hustle and bustle of that Bangkok with a refreshed spirit.

  2. Great place to experience feeding the pigeon and the fish, all the fish at the river nearby the temple are really big size as it is prohibited to fish them, and it seen like at the fish is attracted to this area due to easy food from tourist.

  3. Since I haven’t really decided what to think about this place I’ll just tell it as I saw it. This isn’t really on the way or close to anything mayor in Bangkok so it is a little strange to end up here. But if you are like me and will go here just because it exists and you have a bicycle, here is what you’ll encounter. The temple itself is not special in size and beuty, but it is elevated and therefore has a very nice view of the Chao Phraya river with the city on the background. Apparently what is big to do here is feed the fish with bread and breadlike snacks that you can buy there. You’ll see loads of fish eating from the surface endless food thrown by visitors.

  4. Wat Bukkhalo is a beautiful temple located near the Rama III Bridge on the Chao Phraya River bank. It was built in 1767 during the Ayutthaya Period. Buddha images have been placed on the rooftop of the temple and shaded from the sun by small sala structures. Enjoy the cool breeze and lovely views here. Feeding the river fish is a popular activity here to gain merits. Not a touristy temple, there are no crowds so you can enjoy peace and quiet here.

  5. Was worth stopping but didn’t stay long. The time and detail was amazing but a little lost on teenagers.

  6. We walked here from the Anantara Riverside Resort, where we were staying. It took about 15 minutes to walk there. This is a beautiful small temple, which is unusual as it’s at the top of a building. It has lovely views across to the city and the Chao Phraya River. We had the temple almost to ourselves, apart from some cats! It’s definitely worth a short visit if you’re in the area.

  7. Easy accessible through river ferry, or grab a taxi from Bts Krungthonburi, temple is nice and quiet between the city among tourists crowd. nice amazing view from upper shrine, enjoy cool breeze and peace, the best part is giving bread and food to fish and pigeons, giving you a positive vibes, also for a small donation you can make free birds/ fish from cage.temple is nice with buddha and monk statues a must visit for a quick rejuvenate .

  8. This temple is located at the Thonburi side of the river, I crossed over on the nearby Krung Thep bridge to get here, very breezy and great views! In the temple complex itself the usual array of Buddha statues…but the main attraction here is actually the river itself, there are a ton of fish waiting to be fed (and the many pigeons here hoping for some leftovers), you can buy fish feed here by the bucket, it’s a lot of fun!
