  1. There’s are two utube videos about crystal caves. To get there find the Giant Monkey Pod Tree. Take the only road from there further and keep going and going. You’ll finally see it way up on the mountain. It’s a very steep walk up. Once you reach the temple you’re greeted by a mob of angry dogs that we paid off with sweet biscuits to make friends. The monks are helpful and directed us to two caves. There’s a steep metal ladder leading down to a lower level of cave 1 but I felt that it was too dangerous. It’s pitch black down there so you’d need a torch or lights on a helmet. If you injured yourself by falling down you might cop a head injury and there’s by no help at hand and no hospitals around so we contented ourselves with the first level. You can see the Mekong river from the back of the temple. It’s not far from Burma. There are two videos on utube in which others venture down to the lower level. Crystal Caves are one of the Highlights of Kanchanaburi province.

  2. Just like the name suggests a cave with crystal. We were the only ones there so that was nice, there was a mix of large stalagmites made from solid crystal and beautiful crystals all over the place. Very unique. Worth a visit.

  3. Nice to go and see. Away from the crowds, very special to go in the caves. I would say different experience, but worth a visit if you like to be off beaten track

  4. Ashani was a terrific guide. We enjoyed the tour of the caves. Beautiful! Great for kids and adults alike.
