  1. Gong Khong Market with such a funny name, meaning stooping while shopping, is probably an interesting place for visitors who are into local upcountry life. The place has various displays of street hawkers in preparing their products. There were various type of Thai desserts available for purchase. Many of the shops also offered old style utilities that we could not find in most super market. It was an interesting place to stop by on the way to Ayutthaya from Bang Pa-in.

  2. You can buy traditional things or food here. And you can drink or eat food that rare to found in some market.

  3. Its near Bang-Pa-Inn Palace, takes 15 to 20 minutes to reach from Palace. You can buy traditional Thai things. Its a good place.

  4. Lots of nice things to eat and see here, such as silk roti (my favourite Thai dessert), peanut cookies, plus lots of other food I don’t know the names of. The shop people were happy to give you a little sample of the food too so you can see if you like it. There are also souveniers to buy and other typical market things. I liked it as it was not as crowded as other markets I have been to plus no one really hassled you to buy their stuff – just let you browse in your own time.

  5. This market was far from the center of Ayutthaya about 19 km. You should have own car but cannot go by bicycle and the return point was so far too.Not many thing to sightseeing but some food was cheap and delicious.

  6. It’s the Thai market in Ayutthaya. The theme is old town. They use the low table, the size is about knee length, for selling the products. So the customers must stoop for buying. It’s the origin of the name ” Gong Khong Market” It means stooping market. The products is several Thai souvenirs and Thai food. There’re few people here compared with Ayutthaya Floating Market. So it’s quiet and not to crown too crowded for me.

  7. Along the trip from Ayutthaya to Bangkok there is a nice place called BangPa-in. It’s well known because of a nice Palace with beautiful gardens, but I also suggest you to stop and have lunch in this was colorful and clean market. It offers a lot of choices for eating at a very cheap price (about 50 bath per dish). It offers many tipical products too. We could find also glass art crafts realized under our eyes. I suggest you to stop!

  8. Nice place to visit. The people and the sellers are very nice. There are variety of goods and they are very cheap.
