  1. Lim Ko Niao Shrine or Leng Chu Kiang Shrine (ศาลเจ้าแม่ลิ้มกอเหนี่ยวหรือศาลเจ้าเล่งจูเกียง) On the day of the 3rd lunar month every year, there is the colorful procession carrying Chao Mae’s sculpture along several roads in town, walking on fire in front of the shrine, and swimming across the river near Dechanuchit Bridge.I came here triple times and every time I felt good for the respect of Chinese religion. The second time I came for the Annual Festival of Lim Ko Niao Shrine, it’s very impressive.

  2. An old popular temple at Pattani, believe to have good fortune for businessman who changing theirs’ money with Temple ! Couples’ wishes will come true ! I had visited twice at this Temple ! Suggest depart early morning from Hat Yai and back before noon .

  3. If you came all the way to Pattani this is a must see as it is a living record of the one legend in thr cultural history of the province, especially on loyalty and sacrifice of a Chinese baroness, to which people in Pattani hold dear and see as a model of love and loyalty.

  4. How Lim Kor Niang became a deity was not how she died but how she protected the people during hardship especially those going out to sea, those doing business. Before the insurgency, her temple and graveyard are visited heavily by Malaysian & Singaporeans, but reduce afterwards. It is only during the festivals that are crowded. They also en-shrine her a temple in the municipal park,

  5. It is such a nice place to visit. I am a PSU alumnus so I know this place quite well. Nonetheless, volunteers at the shrine are friendly and helpful. They suggested us the what steps we should do at the shrine. Another good part is that they never asked for any money; no donation request. I always feel good to visit this sacred place. Will go there every visit to Pattani.

  6. Car driving from Hat Yai at 8.30 in the morning, eating lunch before going to Lim Ko Niao Shrine. The Shrine host took care the visitor very well. Some people crawled under the table 50 rounds as keeping promises to Lim Ko Niao Angel. This is the must place in Pattani

  7. Thai-Chinese and oversea chinese always to visit Lim Gor Neaw shrine in each year to pay respect and pray for the auspicious, health and business here. There are museum of her legacy beside the shrine too.You can take van from Hat Yai to drop at front of shrine but if I recommend you should rent van with driver to go another place too. it’s too convinience.Do not miss in you plan.

  8. This was my second visit to the Lim Ko Niao Shrine. It is a beautiful, small pagoda in the heart of Chinatown in Pattani City. The shrine is dedicated to a local Chinese heroine, Chao Mae Lim Ko Niao. Next to this pagoda is an interesting museum about the migration of Hokkien people from Fujian province in China to Pattani province. This museum exhibits beautiful statues and dioramas. Don’t forget to walk around this neighbourhood. There are quite a few historical houses.

  9. Lim Ko Niao temple is a century old, typical Chinese temple and highly revered by both locals and Thais. It has a sad story of sister who came from China to Thailand during Ming dynasty and King Naresuan of Siam with the promise to her family that she would bring back her brother to China. However when failed one day she decided to make suicide as promised, leaving the legacy lives on until today. The temple has been renovated many times and does not look ancient. The only thing to come here is to pay worship to Lim Ko Niao. Tip#1 don’t miss a stroll along the street just 200 meters further to see a few centuries old Chinese houses with signs explaining the histories of each house of China town in Pattani. Tip#2. Visit the musuem next door to the temple for an interesting story of Lim Tao Kian, a brother of Lim Ko Niao, and Pattani story. It is free with good, clean toilet.
